In such situations, you can always take advantage of the help of Google Maps, as they will direct you in the right direction and to your destination. Even if you miss a certain direction, the app will change it accordingly, making your journey easier and easier.
It can take you anywhere. Whether it's a restaurant, your office, gyms, or whatever. But besides showing directions and finding places, the Google Maps app for Android has several other features that we either don't know about or don't make full use of. Here we list some of the tricks you can use while using the app. Take some time to explore these opportunities mentioned below:
1. Organize all your trips automatically. Have you noticed that the Google calendar reminds you of your flights and meeting schedules? Likewise, you can find out everything about your trip using Google Maps. To do this, you need to open the app, click on the "Saved" tab at the bottom, and then scroll down and click on the "Reservations" button. You will be able to see your travel plan, flights, restaurant tables, etc. in an organized list.
2. Pin places you frequent: You can pin places you frequently visit and quickly access them. When looking for a specific location in the Maps app, look for the Pinned option at the bottom of the screen after you press the button to show the directions. From the main Maps screen, tap the Go to tab at the bottom, and then browse the locations suggested by the app based on your recent activity. If you see the trip you want, tap the pushpin icon next to it to pin it.
3. Control your music with cards: you can control your music from the card's interface. Yes, you read that right! Maps can add audio controls directly to the app so you can see your songs currently playing and navigate through them as needed. To do this, you will need to go to the Maps settings, select Navigation Settings, and then click on “Default Media Provider Assistant”. You will need to select one of the available options and any service you choose will appear in your navigation interface.
4. Share your location: is someone looking for your address but can't find your exact location? You can help them find you or just let them know where you are. To do this, you will need to click on the blue dot of the location and then select Share Location from the menu that appears. This will allow you to give someone a link to track your location on a map in real-time for a specified period of time or until you disable this feature.
5. Get specific restaurant suggestions. Are you planning to eat at an outdoor restaurant? Instead of looking for restaurants nearby, you can find a specific restaurant using Maps. Tap the Restaurants option at the top of the main Maps screen and choose one of the options displayed. You will have information such as ratings, opening hours of the establishment, the cuisine it serves, etc. You can also tap the small management icon in the upper left corner of the restaurant search screen and select any filters you want.
